We are thrilled to announce that the theme for this year’s The Hague Film Festival is “Magic of Movies”, inspired by the enchanting tales of 1001 Arabian Nights.

Just as the stories of 1001 Arabian Nights transport us to worlds of wonder, adventure, and imagination, this year’s theme celebrates the transformative power of cinema to captivate, inspire, and connect audiences. From mystical landscapes to extraordinary characters, filmmakers are invited to explore the magic that movies can create—moments that surprise, move, and transport us beyond the ordinary.

“Magic of Movies” encourages a wide spectrum of narratives, from whimsical fantasies to thought-provoking stories that spark curiosity and imagination. Whether through animation, documentary, feature films, or music videos, this theme invites filmmakers to weave their own cinematic spells and invite audiences into their worlds.

The event

This year, the Hague Film Festival will take place on Saturday, November 29th, at the prestigious Diligentia Theater, located at Lange Voorhout 5, 2514 EA Den Haag.
